How to use these tools

  1. 1

Start with the problem, not the tool. A noisy room or a racing mind means the noise generator. Ringing ears means the frequency matcher. Thoughts that will not stop means the breathing timer.

  2. 2

Open the tool and press play. Nothing installs and nothing is uploaded. Every sound is synthesised live in your browser, so the first press of play is all the setup there is.

  3. 3

Adjust one setting at a time. Each tool lays its settings out as numbered steps. Work down them in order — sound first, then level, then timer — instead of changing several at once.

  4. 4

Set a sleep timer before you lie down. 45 to 90 minutes covers falling asleep and the first deep cycle. Leave the tab open — the tools hold your display awake while a sound is playing.

  5. 5

Move to the app when you want it offline. Browser tools stop when the tab closes. Momental keeps the same sounds playing in the background, offline, with the screen off.

What these tools are, and what they are not

Every generator here is built on the browser's Web Audio API. That means the sound is calculated on your device in real time rather than streamed, so there is no buffering, no account, no upload, and no limit on how long you play.

It also means playback lives inside the tab. Close it, lock a phone, or switch apps and the sound stops. For all-night use, a dedicated app that keeps playing with the screen off is the better tool.

None of this is medical advice. Sound and breathing help most people wind down, but persistent insomnia, one-sided tinnitus, or sudden changes in hearing belong with a doctor rather than a web page.
